Speaking & training

A room full of people who have never heard this said out loud.

Most menopause sessions cover the symptoms. I talk about what menopause changes beyond them: capacity, confidence, judgement, and why the most senior women in the room are the least likely to say anything.

Sessions are practical, plainly spoken and free of clinical jargon. People leave with language they can use.

Three ways to bring this into your organisation.

Keynote

For conferences, leadership offsites and internal events. Sets the argument for why menopause is a leadership and capacity issue, not only a wellbeing one.

Awareness workshop

For the whole workforce or an employee network. Builds shared, accurate understanding so people can name what is happening and ask for what they need.

Manager training

For line managers. Practical confidence on conversations, adjustments and support, including with senior team members.

Original research

Sessions built on my own data, not borrowed statistics.

brain fog or reduced focus, often or always

Every session draws on original research into what menopause is actually changing for women at work, alongside the national picture. Audiences hear findings they have not heard before, and language for something many of them have been living without language for.

Menopause Insights Report™, original research with 179 women navigating menopause and midlife, 2026. Self-reported responses gathered through a reflection questionnaire. Not a clinical study.

Topics I am asked for most

The conversations organisations are not having yet.

  • Menopause beyond the symptoms: capacity, confidence and decision-making.
  • The senior-women gap: why the people setting your culture are the least likely to ask for support.
  • What the spring 2027 Equality Action Plan requirement asks of you in practice.
  • Retention and organisational memory: what leaves when an experienced woman quietly steps back.
Where my experience comes from

Two decades across corporate, public sector and community organisations, in learning and development, advisory, training and coaching.

What speakers said afterwards.

I had the great honour of being a speaker at Beverley’s first Women’s Reinvention Convention. She made sure I was well informed every step of the way, plus happy and relaxed on the day.

Beverley put so much thought, time and effort into creating this incredible event. She carefully selected a wide variety of fantastic speakers who really resonated with the audience.

Event design and programming, when a slot is not enough.

Before Back to Herself, I conceived, programmed and hosted Edinburgh’s first Reinvention Convention for women: the speakers, the running order, the shape of the day and the feel of the room.

Most organisations want a session. Occasionally one wants the whole day designed, and that is a different piece of work. If you are building an event for women, or a wellbeing or inclusion day that has to be more than a series of talks, I can help you design it as well as speak at it.

This sits alongside the speaking work rather than in place of it, and it is taken on a few times a year.

Talk to me about your event
  • Programme design. The arc of the day, what goes where, and what the room should be feeling by the close.
  • Speaker curation and briefing. Finding the right voices, and making sure each one knows exactly what their part of the day is for.
  • Facilitation on the day. Holding the room, linking the sessions, and keeping it to time without it feeling rushed.
  • Follow-through. What people leave with, and what happens in the weeks afterwards so the day does not evaporate.
Common questions

Booking a session.

What do you speak on?

+

Menopause beyond the symptoms, the senior-women gap, capacity and leadership, and what the 2027 requirement means in practice.

In person or online?

+

Both. Online sessions work well for dispersed teams; in-person suits leadership events and manager training.

How long is a session?

+

Keynotes run 30 to 60 minutes. Workshops and manager training are usually 60 to 90 minutes, shaped around your audience.

Do you design events as well as speak at them?

+

Yes, although speaking is the main work. I designed and hosted Edinburgh’s first Reinvention Convention for women, and I take on programme design, speaker curation and facilitation a few times a year for organisations building a whole day rather than filling a slot.

How do we book?

+

Start with a complimentary 45-minute discovery conversation so we can agree the audience, format and outcome. Speaking often sits inside a wider piece of work: see working with organisations.

Tell me who is in the room, and I will shape the session around them.
